4pm update: Look for our red/white balloons just south of the Jackson Blvd sidewalk west of Columbus Dr. We are near a big circle of blue chairs.

2:15pm Update: It's hot, it's muggy and looks like it's gonna let loose in the city. But we're still going to the Blues Fest rain or shine. So bring your umbrella and come on down. I will try to post a photograph and a more specific description of our meeting spot when I get over there around 3:30. But be on the lookout for a couple of red/white helium balloons to mark our location. Read further detail below as to our meeting spot.

Please join us at the Chicago Blues Fest Friday evening June 11, 2010. This is a terrific musical extravaganza featuring some of the best blues music in the country! Our group will stake out a "home base" location to gather and then we'll either stay put or go out to the other stages depending on the specific acts our attendees want to see.

A few of us will begin gathering as early as 4pm to get a good spot. We plan to be there all night long, so come on down when you can.

Our group will have a "home base" in the Front Porch Stage Area. This area is basically the southwest corner of Jackson and Columbus. It is a grassy area south of Jackson and west of Columbus. There are two attachments linked below which will help you find us. There's both a map and an aerial photograph.
I expect to have a couple of red and white helium balloons to help you find the group. I will leave these up as long as possible until too many people complain. If you have trouble finding us, please call my cellphone at (312) 265-6272.

Plan to bring along some food and beverages to share with your fellow explorers!

Of course, public transportation is your best option, but the park garages under Grant Park and Millennium Park are also an option if you decide to drive.
